The J1772 inlet is fitted to most North American EVs for AC charging at home and in public — and it is the AC half of the CCS1 fast-charge port. Our J1772 dust cap is molded around that socket geometry with a low profile that clears the port lid on most vehicles, so it stays on at speed and keeps the contacts clean.

J1772 Cap Questions

Does the J1772 cap fit my CCS1 port?+

The J1772 cap fits the AC section of a CCS1 combo inlet. For full coverage including the DC fast-charge pins, use the CCS1 cover version instead.

Will it fit under the port lid when closed?+

Yes — the cap is a low-profile design that clears the vehicle port lid on most North American models. Where the recess is unusual, we tune the profile to your vehicle.

Is this the same standard as Tesla used before NACS?+

Older North American Teslas used a proprietary port that accepts J1772 charging via adapter. If your car is a 2023+ NACS vehicle, contact us with a port photo to confirm the right cover version.
